Frequently asked questions
What does "Bangili" mean?
"Bangili" is the Swahili word for "bracelet". Each one is a flag-themed beaded bracelet, made so you can wear your identity and carry the places you belong to.
Who makes Bangili bracelets?
Every Bangili is handcrafted in Kenya by skilled Maasai women using premium materials. No machines, no mass production. Just human hands and the beauty of meaningful work.
What are the four golden beads?
A signature of four golden beads marks every authentic Bangili. They are our mark of originality, woven into each piece as a quiet sign of the real thing.
How do I choose my size?
Bangili bracelets are adjustable and come in sizes Kids to XL (5 to 9 inches around the widest part of your hand). Open the size guide on any product page to find your fit.
Do you ship internationally, and what about returns?
Yes, we ship worldwide, with free shipping across the UAE on orders over 300 AED. If something is not right, returns are easy and free within 14 days.
What are Bangili bracelets made of?
Every Bangili is hand-woven from premium glass beads set on a durable, adjustable band. The beads are chosen for their depth of colour and their weight, so the piece feels considered on the wrist rather than disposable. It is built for real life, made to travel, layer and last.
Because each one is made by hand, small variations in bead and weave are part of the craft, not a flaw. They are the quiet fingerprint of the woman who made it.
Can I wear my Bangili every day, and is it okay in water?
Yes. Bangili is designed for everyday wear, so a splash at the sink, a caught shower or a rainy walk will not harm it.
For the longest life, we would slip it off before a long soak, a swimming pool or the sea. Chlorine and salt water are hard on any beadwork and thread over time, and a moment of care now keeps your bracelet looking its best for years.
Will perfume, lotion or sunscreen affect my bracelet?
A good habit to keep: perfume, lotion and sunscreen first, let them dry, then your Bangili last. Alcohol and oils can gradually dull the beads and tire the band, so keeping them off the bracelet keeps the colour bright and the weave strong.
How do I clean my Bangili?
Keep it simple. Wipe your bracelet gently with a soft, dry or very slightly damp cloth whenever it needs a refresh, and steer clear of household cleaners or solvents.
For the full routine, our Care Guide walks you through cleaning, drying and storing step by step, so your bracelet stays as vivid as the day it arrived.
How do I keep the beadwork looking its best?
When you are not wearing it, store your Bangili flat or in its pouch, away from direct sunlight and heat, so the colours stay true. Avoid snagging the weave on rough fabrics or Velcro, and adjust the fit by sliding the band rather than pulling on the beads.
Treated kindly, the beadwork holds its shape and shine, and it wears in beautifully with you.
Can I request a flag that isn't in the collection yet?
Absolutely. The collection grows all the time, and many of our flags began as a customer request. If you do not see yours yet, tell us which one you are waiting for.
We keep a running list, and the flags people ask for most are usually the ones we make next. Belonging deserves to be seen, so we want yours in there too.
Do you offer gift options like a Family Pack or corporate sets?
Yes. The Family Pack brings four bracelets together, ideal for a household, a close circle of friends or a group travelling under different flags. For companies, we also create corporate gift sets with considered packaging, so identity becomes part of the welcome.

If a payment method you rely on is missing, let us know and we will do our best to add it.
