Made to last
Caring for your Bangili
Every Bangili is hand-woven by Maasai women in Kenya from premium glass beads on a durable adjustable band. A little care keeps the colours bright, the weave strong, and your piece ready for everyday wear for years to come.
Everyday wear
Your Bangili is made to be lived in, so wear it with confidence. Put it on last, after you have dressed and finished your skincare, so the band and beads stay clean.
Water and showering
Take it off before you shower, swim, or step into a sauna. A quick splash will not harm it, but prolonged water and heat weaken the thread over time.
Perfume, lotion and sunscreen
Apply fragrance, moisturiser, and sunscreen first, then let them dry fully before putting your bracelet on. Oils and alcohols dull the glass and break down the weave.
Cleaning
Wipe the beads gently with a dry, soft cloth whenever they need a refresh. Skip soaps, household cleaners, solvents, and ultrasonic machines, as they can strip the colour and fray the band.
Storage
When you are not wearing it, keep your Bangili flat and dry in its pouch or box, away from direct sunlight. Steady sun and heat can fade the band and soften the colour of the glass.
Travel
Pack it in its pouch inside your carry-on, kept apart from keys, coins, and hard jewellery. This protects the beads from knocks and keeps the four golden beads pristine.
